Interfacial mechanisms responsible for the frictional behavior

We invite applications for a one-year postdoctoral position to work on
the interfacial mechanisms responsible for the frictional behavior of
solid bodies. We experimentally investigate the role of interfacial
heterogeneities in the frictional failure. The research will be carried
out under the supervision of Elsa Bayart, in the Physics Laboratory at
Ecole Normale Supérieure, Lyon, France.

The position is for a junior researcher (< PhD + 2 years) with a strong
experimental profile. The candidate is expected to have a solid
background in physics (soft matter / mechanics / geophysics). The
position will be funded for one year starting in Fall 2018, no later
than January 2019. If interested, please send a CV, a motivation
statement and names and contacts of 2-3 references at
<[email protected]>.
