Fully funded Ph.D and postdoctoral positions in the area of membrane biophysics are available in my research group at Ben Gurion University, Israel.
Our group applies analytical and computational methods of statistical mechanics to understand the physical principles behind the functioning of complex biological and biomedical systems. We are especially interested in developing coarse-grained physical models for studying complex biological phenomena on macroscopic (cellular) scales.
Possible research projects include but are not limited to:
- Modeling and simulations of lipid domains
- Developing coarse-grained models of polymer-coated lipids
- Self-assembly of drug- and gene-delivery complexes
- Studies of membrane adhesion processes
I am looking for excellent candidates with background in the areas of statistical mechanics, soft matter physics, biophysics, or applied mathematics. Candidates should have experience in computer programing. Experience with the LAMMPS package for molecular simulations is an advantage.
